The Monuments for UK Veterans of the American Civil War Association was founded in January 2022 by Gina Denham and Darren Rawlings, inspired by the dedication of Gina’s great-great-grandfather, George Denham, a British American Civil War veteran. Our organization works to organize and rededicate memorials to the often-forgotten members of the London branch of U.S. Civil War veterans, as well as British American Civil War veterans buried in the UK, ensuring they are honored with proper headstones. Our motto is “Raising Awareness and Monuments”, and our ultimate goal is to establish a central monument that commemorates and celebrates all British American Civil War veterans.
